ATM Bersama

Electronic payment solutions aren't an option. Realizing this ARTAJASA were the first to set up the first Shared ATM network in Indonesia. Empowering consumers to transact with participating banks and financial institutions. For banks, it streamed their operations, significantly reduced costs and time of payment- related operations and receive fee bases, which resulted in economies of scale.

Today ATM Bersama offer many interbank facilities, including balance inquiry, cash withdrawal and real time-online transfer to other accounts of members of the shared network. In 2004 ARTAJASA initiated a cross-border ATM Bersama with partner provider MEPS, Malaysia to service Indonesian workers, students living there as well as tourists.

Singapore and Thailand have already been linked to the ATM Bersama network with NETS and ITMX respectively. ARTAJASA will continue to extend our across border ATM BERSAMA network to include more of ASEAN and to countries which host large numbers of Indonesian workers and students.

To the consumer the wide presence of ATM Bersama and it the network that covers all major banks is a valuable contribution to their busy life-style. Undoubtedly it will contribute significantly to the loyalty of consumers to their respective banks.

SERVICES: Features And Amenities

Features ATM Bersama are currently available as follows:

  • Cash withdrawals, card owners can take the money at ATM terminal which using ATM Bersama logo, along with the withdrawal limit per day according to the determined by the bank card issuer;
  • Fast Cash Withdrawal, cardholders can take the money at ATM terminal which using ATM Bersama logo with no insert amount to be taken but by pressing the appropriate menu on screen ATM;
  • Balance Inquiry, cardholders can view their account balances;
  • Interbank transfer, card owners can transfer money to the beneficiary account as long as the account is similar or the account owned by other bank which member of ATM Bersama;

To support the operations of ATM Bersama, other than switching systems and data communication channels, ARTAJASA also provide settlement and customer care facilities.

  • Online Settlement, the settlement facility provided in which only members of the bank to transfer its obligations to the bank account ARTAJASA at Bank Indonesia through terminal BI-RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement). Furthermore ARTAJASA distribute those funds to banks entitled to receive it. All the activities are completed at H +1.
  • Customer Care, operational for 24 hours x 7 days a week throughout the year, so that can help banks whenever needed. All the issues received by the Customer Care operations ranging from daily operations, system disturbances and interbank claims.

Membership Requirements

Membership of ATM Bersama classified into 3 (three) classes of Principal Members, Associate Members and Affiliate Member.

1. Principal Member

Principal Member was a member of ATM Bersama that having ATM terminal. Requirements to become a principal member as follows:

  • Commercial banks clearing BI participants and members of BI-RTGS
  • Has the Bank Identification Number (BIN)
  • Having an application in accordance with international financial message formats (ISO 8583)
  • Have a Host Security Module (HSM) for PIN encryption
  • Having a database authorization facility online customer accounts
  • Having a PIN Generator, PIN Mailer and Card Embosser
  • Opens its ATM terminal for all customers of ATM Bersama

2. Associate Member

Associate Members are members of ATM Bersama that does not have an ATM terminal. Requirements to become associate members are as follows:

  • Commercial banks clearing BI participants and members of BI-RTGS
  • Have Bank Identification Number (BIN)
  • Have an application in accordance with international financial message formats (ISO 8583)
  • Have a Host Security Module (HSM) for PIN encryption system
  • Have a database authorization facility online customer accounts
  • Having a PIN Generator, PIN Mailer and Card Embosser

3. Affiliate Member

Affiliate Member is a financial institution can become a member of ATM Bersama but does not qualify as a Principal or Associate member. Special rules that apply to Affiliate Member of:

  • As an affiliate, financial institutions are obliged to put the logo on the Principal of his ATM card.
  • All the rights and obligations of settlement of customer transactions at the ATM Bersama Affiliate Member will be taken over by The Principal.
  • Affiliate may file Principal systems to authorize customer transactions.
